Angling named as only number 19 in most popular sports

The Telegraph news paper featured the top sports in the country with swimming being the number one participation sport, surprisingly Football was number 4 in  the top sports.

Angling dropped to 19th most popular sport in the UK, once number 1 participating sport is now topped by Exercise, movement and dance at number at number 6, Golf in 5th position, Equestrian at 9th, Bowls at 10th place.

The fishing license figures also show a drop in purchases in non and disabled anglers buying fishing licenses in 2016, BDAA continue to receive requests for help to get their clients back into fishing after illness or injury.
