Facebook group helps raise funds

19th September 2016

Social media Facebook has shown it has the power to unite communities and help charities, Mark Leonard contacted Terry Moseley (Founder of BDAA) asking if he could help raise vital funds to keep BDAA helping disabled children and adults. The trustees were agreed that not only is this a good idea, but boosted the moral of the executive committee that there was people who still wanted to help even in a tough financial climate. Mark has set up Maver Madness Green Army on Facebook where him and his Facebook and angling friend Tony Goulding have been running raffles on quality fishing tackle based on the lottery numbers. The response has been brilliant with profits after costs going to BDAA in the form of donations, it boosted the Facebook duo to contact Martin Taylor of Fir Tree Fishery Wigan who supported the charity by helping arrange a charity fishing competition June 20th in aid of BDAA. The Facebook group goes from strength to strength in support and fundraising ideas, we cannot thank both Mark and Tony enough for their support, along with all those who help raise funds through Maver madness green Army.
