BDAA were approached by a junior football team with disabled players in the West Midlands to see if we could offer a different sporting experience other than football where they could all participate equally. The BDAA coaching team organised an introduction to angling event at Woodlands View fishery Worcestershire, the initial idea was to coach a dozen under 12`s in an angling experience, however as normal from the first fish caught the non-disabled siblings wanted to try followed by the parents and the numbers doubled in a very short time.
The day was a complete success, they didn't give up football, but we did gain a number of new anglers both disabled and non-disabled.
